If numerous and ancient are the sources which attest the passage of the Francigena to Burgo San Donnino (actually Fidenza), the path between Burgo San Donnino and Fornovo isn't anymore documented.
The following notebook, the 5th of "Collana Storica Fidentina", wants at least in part to overwhelm such a gap, with research extended to the notarial acts of Burgo San Donnino in XVth and XVIth centuries, conserved in the archives of the State of Parma. |
