The call is entitled “Support to transnational thematic tourism products as means of enhancing competitiveness and sustainability of European tourism and is addressed specifically to cultural “routes or trails (see in particular pages 4 and 5 of the call, on the policy framework)
It aims to encourage both transnational cooperation and public/private partnerships.
Proposal must include at least 5 partners from different countries in a consortium. Countries eligible are the 27 EU member states, plus European Free Trade Association countries (EFTA) which are members of the European Economic Area (EEA) (Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein), as well as countries participating in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme of the CIP (Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkey, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania and Israel).
A new feature is that at least one partner has to be a small or medium-sized industry having worked for at least two years in the tourism sector.
The deadline for submissions is 25 July, for projects over a duration of 18 months. EU financing may represent up to €210 000, and its total cannot equal more than 75% of the overall cost of the project (see page 10).
This new call for proposals is an ideal opportunity for the development of cultural routes and creation of new ones according to the criteria for Council of Europe cultural routes set out in Committee of Ministers Resolution Res(2010)52. We very much encourage your networks to consider applying. |
