Génériques dedicates it’s activities in the history and the preservation of the immigration archives. In addition of it’s work of research, this institution is involved in the organisation of culturals events.
Magazine fair entitled La Revue, from the 10th to the 12th of october 2008 :
Génériques will present the last publications of it’s magazine Migrance :
- Migrance , n°30 : Pictures and iconographics archives, images of the migrations
- Migrance , n° 31 : Ethnicity and migration, a Greek story. This edition have an english version
- Migrance , n°32 : Musics and Films, archives for the history of immigration.

- Moissac, 31st of october : Slimane Azem Death’s Celebration. Lecture and projection of a documentary film about Slimane Azem, a legend of an exile
- Moissac, 1st of november : Discussion with Tassadit Yacine – Lecturer from the EHESS-Paris -, Naïma Yahi, Salah Amokrane, Rabah Mezouane, Nourredine Chenoud, Salah Amokrane, Mouss and Hakim, Kamal Hamadi (song writer), and the singer Idir. Concert with Idir.
- Marseille, 5th of november : Discussion about north african songs of France (Espace Julien). With Driss El Yazami, Naïma Yahi and Rabah Mezouane. Concert.
- 8th of november : Celebrating Date dedicated to Kateb Yacine : Discussion and presentation of radios’ and videos’ archives by Génériques .
- 9th of november : Discussion on north african women’s immigrant and singer with Naima Yahi, Driss El Yazami, Rabah Mezouane. Concert with Melouka.
- 13th of November : Discussion on political struggles of immigration with Ahmed Boubeker, Saïd Bouziri and Saïd Bouamama.
- 16 Novembre : Exchange on Sport and Immigration with Boli, Yvan
Gastaut, Kader Abderahim, Nourredine Kourichi, Naïma Yahi and Lilian Thuram (subject to confirmation).
- Paris, 29th of november : Concert « Origines Contrôlées » (Cigale). Homage to north african immigrant artists. Decoration of Warda, Noura and Kamel Hamadi by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication (the 28th of November).
Animations within the frame of Traces, an event dedicated to the immigrant’s memory in Rhône-Alpes
4th december at the Opera of Lyon :
- Study Day dedicated to the north african songs of exile in France (1950/1970) : with ethnologist specialized in music, singers and artistes, and young researchers.
- Night dedicated to north african scopitone (a kind of juke-box where one’s can hear and watch a well-known singer) : The scopitones that will be presented are dated back to the 60s-70s. Attendees : Daidy Davy-Boyer (film maker), Alain Brunet (film director), Roger Barascut (who created this scopitones), and few artists that has performed for this scopitones : Akli Yahiaten, Noura, Kamel Hamadi...
