A general-purpose infrastructure
At the same time as its main activity, the Centre welcomes colloquiums, seminars, exhibitions...
The infrastructure of the Centre of European Culture has, in one prestigious environment, lecture halls (the room of the Hosts, 100 sitting places and the lounge of the Abbot, 50 sitting places), of general-purpose workshops and conference rooms (12 in 30 sitting places), of rooms and galleries of exhibition (270 m²) with parquet and visible beams.
An exceptional residence
The Royal Abbey of the XVII-th century, classified ancient memorial, was rehabilitated in the respect for the initial architecture of the building (visible beams, walls in the lime ?) to answer the standards **NN and offer a complete prosperity. The Centre of European Culture offers 37 rooms. Each of them has the own equipped toilet block of wc, shower or bathtub and washbasin.
A well-kept restoration
Served in the arched chapter room of the Abbey (who can receive up to 90 place settings), the restoration is assured by professionals who propose in every meal of the varied menus and the quality, simple or gastronomic. The galleries of exhibition or the restaurant also welcome cold sideboards, cocktails (200 persons) as well as famous medieval dressed up banquet (70 place settings).
A privileged region
By his geographic situation, Saint Jean d'Angély offers all year long an unique brilliance in a region rich in historic sites, animations and cultural events : Futuroscope of Poitiers, the Marée Poitevin, the Francofolies of La Rochelle, the Festival of the Detective film and the Book fair with Cognac, the Festival of Comic strips of Angoulême or even Fort Boyard... |
