The project
Its aim is to create an identity to the tourist product “Via Francigena et des itineraries de pèlerinage reconnus par le Conseil de l’Europe�, to capitalise and spread knowledge, to improve the project’s visibility.

The project is in line with the European policies on cultural, environmental and sustainable tourism. It is operated in the framework of the European Commission’s call for proposal 2011 “Promotion of trans-national thematic tourism products in the European Union as means of sustainable tourism development�.
PER VIAM is led by the European Association of the Vie Francigene. The main objective is to create an identity of the product Via Francigena and the Pilgrimage routes acknowledged by the Council of Europe, to disseminate the knowledge at different levels and to give it visibility and relevance. The Kick off meeting has been held in Turin.
