The Foundation "The Routes of the Olive Tree" participated in the second Forum "Dieta Mediterranea" held in Imperia, Italy, from 17 to 19 November 2011, on the Mediterranean diet and the olive tree .

The Forum was a unique opportunity of reflection on the theme of the Mediterranean Diet, in the framework its registration, the 10th November 2010 in Nairobi (an anniversary which the Forum symbolically marked) in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco (5th session of the Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage), as common heritage, presented jointly by Morocco, Spain, Greece, and Italy.
Articulated in two stages, the Forum set itself as targets a great deal of research and studying, which started in May, and the creation of a Network of Oil Producing Cities of the Mediterranean (ReCOMed) around the theme preservation and promotion of the olive tree and its products, as an element on which the Mediterranean Diet is based and as a development tool for societies and the economy of olive producing territories.
