| Born from a dream, the villa and its garden, near from the Mediterranean sea, constitutes a true homage to the Hellenic heritage and the spirits which, for the Old ones, populated earth and water. |

The hellenist Theodore Reinach - musicographer, archaeologist and
numismatist - decided, with the help and the talent of the architect Emmanuel Pontremoli, to carry out a master piece, the Kérylos villa. Modern Greek testimony of the architecture of the "Belle Époque" on the Riviera, the Kérylos villa, built between 1902 and 1908, is like an elegant white construction, raised flat roofs furnished with
coloured pergolas.
The Kérylos villa is not a pastiche, but a reinterpretation of Greece. The architect Emmanuel Pontremoli showed a great freedom and a subtle spirit of adaptation, combining refinement, archaeological rigour and the comfort which fulfills the
requirements of the modern life. The selected architectural model was the noble houses of the island of Délos of second and first centuries before Jesus-Christ.
